Don’t consider setting foot on the paths of the great Mont Blanc without first consulting Autour Du Mont-Blanc, the official app of the Fondazione Montagna Sicura (Safe Mountain Foundation), the Aosta Valley regional body responsible for mountain safety (www.fondazionemontagnasicura.org).

The guide provides a list of all the accommodation available for tourists doing the Tour du Mont Blanc, providing opening and closing times, information on the services offered, prices and contact details.
The home page links to a section dedicated to mountain safety, containing descriptions of possible hazards, the equipment you are advised to take, examples of medical conditions that could occur on the mountain, and the steps to take in the event of an emergency.
The app allows you to create a postcard by taking a photo and sending it free of charge through the post to friends and relatives.
The ‘Diary’ section lets you read descriptions of trips shared by other users and add your own.
Official information about the paths, along with webcam images, can be viewed in the ‘Path Condition’ section.
Finally, to complete the information on the region, weather forecasts are provided for France, Italy and Switzerland.
